My client is a multinational manufacturing firm and well recognised brand name. Their growing UK subsidiary is looking to recruit a Senior Credit Controller on a permanent basis.
This opportunity is suited to an experienced individual who has a proven background expertly managing a company’s debts. The successful candidate will join a settled and close-knit finance team and be responsible for collecting money owed, evaluating new credit requests, processing proforma invoices, maintaining the sales ledger, and providing administrative support.
Basic salary offered is £30,000 per annum. Benefits include 25 days annual leave, private healthcare and travel insurance. This is an office-based role based in Borehamwood, hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, key responsibilities will include:
- Chasing overdue debt payments by phone, email and letter.
- Reducing bad debts.
- Evaluating new credit requests on potential new business.
- Checking credit score of customer credit worthiness, agreeing credit limits and terms.
- Dealing with customer invoice queries, complaints and escalated enquiries.
- Invoice query resolution in timely manner.
- Communicating with all departments regularly, providing necessary updates.
- Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate with senior management regularly.
- Proforma invoicing and issuing credit notes.
- Allocating BACS/Cash/Credit Card payments/Euro payments and updating the cash book.
- Preparing month end reports and reconciliation.
- Preparing aged debtors reports.
- Initiating legal procedures.
- Identifying high risk accounts and flagging to senior management.
- Assisting the finance department and helping other departments in case of business need.
- Issue customer statements.
- Preparing and distributing monthly reports both internal and external.
- Monthly cash forecasts.
To be considered you will be:
- Capable with using Excel, importantly Pivot Table and Lookups.
- Ideally come from a stock/product-based company background (i.e., Manufacturing, Retail, FMCG etc).
- Take charge of credit control from start to finish in a company, with the ability to work autonomously.
