Head of Finance

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head of Finance to join a thriving construction company based in South East London. Reporting directly to the Board, you will play a pivotal role in managing financial operations and driving the company’s growth. This is an office-based position with responsibility for overseeing a team of 3 finance professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction sector, exceptional financial acumen, and the ambition to grow into a future Finance Director role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of 3 finance staff, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting.
• Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and suppliers.
• Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations and reporting requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with the Board to develop and execute the company’s financial strategy.
• Play a key role in the company’s growth plans.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of finance leadership experience in the construction sector.
• Recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Strong financial analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a small finance team.
