Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated FP&A Manager to lead the financial planning and analysis function. Reporting directly to the Financial Director, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial stability and sustainability of the institution. The FP&A Manager will be responsible for budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning: Develop and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align financial plans with strategic objectives.
- Financial Forecasting: Prepare accurate financial forecasts and projections to provide insights into the institution’s financial health and assist in decision-making.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Financial Reporting: Generate and distribute financial reports to key stakeholders, including the Board of Directors, senior management, and department heads.
- Variance Analysis: Analyse budget vs. actual results, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Financial Modelling: Build and maintain financial models to support long-term planning, scenario analysis, and investment decisions.
- Strategic Support: Collaborate with senior management to provide financial guidance on strategic initiatives, new programs, and capital investments.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and reporting requirements relevant to educational institutions.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and enhance financial planning and analysis processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or relevant professional qualification preferred.
- 5 years proven experience in financial planning and analysis.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills, ideally utlisation of Power BI or Tableau.
- Prior experience in the education sector or a similar non-profit organisation is a plus.
