We have an amazing opportunity available for an experienced Head of Finance to join a small, dynamic, fun and fast-growing Creative Agency based in Shoreditch, London. This will be a hands-on role, pivotal in helping the company grow by being a brilliant advisor and linking the director’s, clients, suppliers and staff.
To be considered you will need to have considerable experience in small to medium sized businesses, ideally media/consultancy firms, where turnover has been between 2 and 10 million. You’ll be comfortable with having a prominent and wide remit within a business. Primarily in finance but also with HR.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report into the MD and board
- Line management of management accountant
- Cashflow forecast
- Cash management – juggling cashflow
- Review of monthly management accounts and consolidation across the group
- Variance analysis and reporting to budget and earlier years
- Manage relationship with banks, auditors & other third parties
- Some IT oversight (i.e., ensure new joiners are set up on systems)
- Office rent, equipment & space oversight
- Monthly payroll and pensions for London and Singapore
- Manage VAT/GST quarterly returns
- Oversight of recruitment processes for all new hires, working with relevant team heads UK & APAC
- Sole charge of annual & 6 monthly staff appraisals
- Staff training & CPD development
- Assist Creative Director with GDPR Consultant
- Approve all production budgets
- Arrange social staff events & build staff committee
- Implement company values
- Overseeing student placements & providing training & support with management accountant for them
You will be:
- A brilliant communicator and able to explain finance matters in simple terms to non-finance staff
- Able to build rapport with multiple stakeholders and personalities (i.e., creative and production staff)
- Flexible in your approach to work, ready to swap between tasks as and when required
- Hands on with more mundane tasks when required
- Super organised in managing your own workload
- Calm under pressure
- Used to preparing financial information with accuracy and attention to detail
- Not afraid to ask questions & suggest improvement to processes
- Able to handle tight cash flows and HR matters
Benefits
- Flexible working hours (3 days a week, one working from home if needed)
- £90,000 – 100,000 per annum before pro rata
- The company is open to both a 9-month contract with the view to going permanent or taking someone permanent straight away.
