A self-starter and proactive manager is required for an ambitious start-up charity, owned by a successful entrepreneur, established to provide person based tailored plans for neurodiverse service users, ensuring quality of life and equal access to life experiences and opportunities, irrespective of their learning, emotional and behavioural challenges.

In summary the charity will provide:

  • Detailed profiling and provision of a personalised care and support plan for each neurodiverse service user and agrees the plan with the commissioning authority, family, care providers or carers.
  • On behalf of the commissioning authorities, care providers and individual service users, the sourcing of suitably qualified individuals and organisations with the knowledge and experience effectively to meet the needs of the individual service users being supported by the charity.
  • Ensuring that the tailored support plans are fully funded and are within the allocated budgets.
  • Monitoring and reporting to the commissioning authority or the family and carers the performance of the care providers.
  • Ongoing and continuous assessment of the individuals needs and adjusting the care and support plans as appropriate.
  • An online community where the neurodiverse service users feel they belong and connected whilst also connecting third sector organisation and others in the private sector to engage with and offer work experience and other meaningful opportunities and experiences.
  • Eventually the charity will provide a tailored “DigitalAssistant” for each service user, helping them more effectively to navigate through daily life and handle complex and anxious situations.
  • Provide and/or arrange complimentary and additional services as required, including social events.

Main responsibilities:

  • Day-to-day operation of the organisation and liaising with the Care and Support Manager (CSM) who is experienced in and focused on liaising with local authorities and care providers and individual carers.
  • In collaboration with the CSM identify specialist service providers and other resources as needed in order to signpost the service users towards.
  • Be involved in creating flexible templates/personas for types of service users, again in collaboration with the CSM.
  • Focus on fund raising and other income generation opportunities, including events to promote charity, and direct approaches to private sector organisations with a strong commitment to ESG.
  • As part of 4) above, engage with third sector organisations for collaboration as appropriate and also as resources for service delivery to the service users.
  • Promote the charity to potential volunteers.
  • Think of and organise social and other fun events for the service users.

Key requirements:

  • Extensive experience within the charity sector
  • Previous involvement with adults with learning disabilities.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of neurodiverse individuals.
  • Organised, motivated self-starter requiring minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Be proactive and prepared to take the initiative in pursuit of achieving the best for the organisation and the service users.
  • Clear evidence of experience in fundraising and recruiting volunteers.
  • Business acumen, being comfortable with use of technology, especially social media, would be an advantage, as would be an understanding of finance and budget management.
  • Ability to commute to the charity’s offices in central Woking 3 days a week (hybrid working).

Salary is dependent on suitability and experience, it’s envisaged circa £50-60,000 p/a, adjusted if required. Full time or reduced hours (part time) considered.
