Job Summary:

As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team in various accounting functions. Your responsibilities will involve assisting with credit control, accounts payable, and month-end tasks. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that offers exposure to different facets of accounting and the chance to progress. It is envisaged the role will initially help with some investigatory work around Credit Control allocations as this department requires most support, but will quickly expand to a wider remit.

Key Responsibilities:

Credit Control: Work closely with the credit control team to monitor customer accounts, review outstanding balances, investigate misposted allocations, and assist in collecting payments.

Accounts Payable: Process invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely payments. Collaborate with other departments to resolve any invoice discrepancies, maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Month-End Support: Assist in month-end financial activities, including reconciling accounts, and contributing to business reporting processes.

General Accounting Support: Provide support in other accounting tasks as needed, such as maintaining records, assisting with audits, and participating in process improvements.

Systems transfer: Provide support to the Head of Finance with the upcoming systems implementation.

Background required:

You will be required to have experience working in an SME as a Bookkeeper or Assistant Accountant. You will have double entry knowledge, be systems savvy and ideally be competant using excel.


Salary £30-35k. The company believe in taking care of employees and providing a positive work environment that fosters growth and development.
